The book Digitalna obrada signala (eng. Digital Signal Processing) by Zdenka Babić has been published and is freely available on the Internet Archive.
This textbook provides a comprehensive introduction to Digital Signal Processing (DSP). It begins with discrete-time signals and systems, covering time-domain signal analysis and the z-transform. It then moves on to frequency-domain analysis using the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). The book also addresses time–frequency analysis of non-stationary signals using the Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and Wavelet Transform, as well as the analysis of random processes and signal modeling. Special attention is devoted to digital filters, including the design of optimal and adaptive filters. The final part of the book focuses on digital signal processing systems and their practical implementation.
The book is primarily intended for engineering students and students of related technical disciplines. It includes practical aspects of signal processing and is also relevant to applications in medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, and other fields requiring signal processing techniques.
The material spans 705 pages and includes approximately 300 graphical illustrations, mostly generated using MATLAB, which support the theoretical content and facilitate understanding.
The text is written in a standard language understandable to speakers of Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian, using the Latin script.
